This mural was painted on a temporary plywood façade surrounding a large construction site on the corner of Shattuck Avenue and Center Street in Berkeley, California. The eight foot tall mural wraps around two sides of the building for a total length of over 350 feet. The content of the piece is universal and positive, featuring local landmarks and relevant iconography in a isometric urban landscape. Everything is depicted in a simple, eye-catching palette of the client's brand colors. A small scale sample illustration was approved ahead of time to define style and palette, but then the actual installation was done with no planning, guides, projectors, or pencils. The entire piece was painted painted solo, by hand, with brushes and house paint in early 2020.
