This mural was painted on a temporary plywood façade surrounding a large construction site on the corner of Telegraph Avenue and Grand Avenue in Oakland, California. The eight foot tall mural wraps around two sides of the building for a total length of over 272 feet. The content of the piece is universal and positive, featuring local landmarks and relevant iconography in a isometric urban landscape. Everything is depicted in white, blue, and black on a bold red background; an eye-catching graphic use of the client's brand colors. A small scale sample illustration was approved ahead of time to define style and palette, but then the actual installation was done with no planning, guides, projectors, or pencils. The entire piece was painted painted solo, by hand, with brushes and house paint over the course of 7 non-consecutive days in early August 2019.
